Apple appears to be preparing notable changes in the iPhone 17 Pro lineup, shifting attention towards enhancing display technology and camera functionality.

According to new reports, Apple is likely to introduce an anti-reflective display coating to the iPhone 17 Pro models. This coating is expected to minimize glare and improve durability by adding a scratch-resistant layer. Apple has previously implemented similar technology in the iPad Pro (2024), and its integration into the iPhone lineup could mark a practical improvement in outdoor visibility and screen longevity.

Samsung introduced a comparable anti-reflective layer in its Galaxy S24 Ultra last year. Apple seems poised to adopt a similar approach, offering a better visual experience by reducing light reflection. If implemented, this display enhancement will complement the existing ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate seen in current Pro models.

In addition to display changes, sources indicate that Apple might upgrade the telephoto lens in the iPhone 17 Pro. The new camera could support up to 8x optical zoom, a significant step up from the 5x zoom currently available in the iPhone 16 Pro.

Apple is also reportedly working on a dedicated professional-grade camera application tailored for both photography and video recording. The new app is expected to provide more granular control, rivalling other third-party pro-level iOS camera apps.

Further hardware adjustments may include an additional camera button placed on the top edge of the device. This would be in addition to the existing dedicated camera button located near the power switch. The reason for this potential redundancy remains unclear.

Leaked design details suggest that Apple may also modify the rear layout of the iPhone 17 Pro models by adopting a horizontal camera bar, a departure from the vertical arrangement used in prior models.

Apple has not officially confirmed any of these features. However, if these upgrades materialize, they could strengthen the iPhone 17 Pro’s positioning in the premium smartphone market.
