The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a security alert to Apple users regarding serious vulnerabilities identified across multiple Apple operating systems.
According to CERT-In, these flaws impact devices running on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS. The vulnerabilities potentially allow malicious actors to access confidential user data, circumvent existing security barriers, execute unauthorized commands, elevate privileges, and cause service disruptions.
Targeted Systems and Affected Versions:
* iOS versions earlier than iOS 18.6
* iPadOS versions prior to 17.7.9 and 18.6
* macOS Venture (before 13.7.7), Sonoma (before 14.7.7), Sequoia (before 15.6)
* watchOS versions earlier than 11.6
* tvOS versions before 18.6
* VisionOS versions earlier than 2.6
CERT-In warned that attackers exploiting these vulnerabilities could manipulate data and compromise user privacy. Additionally, reputational risks and operational disruptions may arise from unchecked exposure.
Apple is actively distributing security patches to address the identified issues. Users are advised to update their devices as soon as new patches become available. If an update has not yet been released for a device, users are encouraged to wait for the official fix rather than seeking third-party alternatives.
Further details on the patches, including changelogs and mitigation specifics, are available on the Apple Support website. Users should refer to official Apple sources for verified information and timely updates.
