Apple Announces Apple Intelligence Features Coming to iPhone, iPad, and Mac in India

Apple Intelligence, the company's AI-powered system, is scheduled to be available to Indian users by the beginning of April 2024 in the iOS 18.4 update. The update will include support for English (India) in addition to add advanced AI features to a select group of iPhones and iPads as well as Macs.

Availability

Apple Intelligence India launch on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max as well as iPads as well as Macs fitted by M1 chips and later. Alongside India the update will add AI capabilities in a variety of languages which include Chinese (Simplified), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish.

AI Processing and Privacy

Apple Intelligence operates using a combination of processing that is on-device as well as Private Cloud Compute, which Apple claims is specifically designed to protect the privacy of users. Apple states that cloud-based processing is subject to audits and cryptographic verification to ensure security of data.

The extension to India and other regions is Apple's attempt to introduce the AI capabilities to an larger public. The company hasn't set a date for the addition of support for languages beyond the current rollout.
