Android eSIM transfer arrives on additional smartphones: Complete list of mobile phones support eSIM

Google's eSIM transfer technology, initially introduced for Pixel devices during last year's Mobile World Congress, is now expanding to more smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy Ultra 24, according to sources. In 2018, Google announced plans to extend eSIM technology to various networks worldwide and enable Android device manufacturers to build eSIM-capable smartphones. The eSIM transfer process is straightforward: when both old and new phones are in close proximity, a prompt appears on the old device to "Transfer SIM to [insert new phone model]." Upon tapping next, a QR code displays on the new phone, and a camera viewfinder appears on the old device. Scanning the QR code with the old phone initiates the automatic transfer of all information.

Initially exclusive to Galaxy devices with One UI 5.1, the Samsung eSIM transfer tool has reportedly expanded its compatibility to non-Galaxy devices with the latest One UI update (version 6.1), as observed by Reddit user FragmentedChicken.

According to eSIM.net, eSIMs offer several advantages, such as eliminating the need for new physical SIM cards, enabling storage of multiple profiles on a single device for easy switching, and providing a more durable and space-efficient alternative to traditional SIM cards.
