OriginOS 6 merges with Origin Smooth Engine that is responsible for optimizing three areas namely storage, display, and computing resulting in faster performance. Vivo claims to have 18.5% quicker app cold starts, 10.5% better frame-rate stability, 106% faster data loading, and 35% smoother animations.
With Origin Animation System, one can experience new animation effects like Spring, Blur Transition, Morphing, and One Shot. A Snap-Up Engine makes quick payments and ticket purchases etc., and thus enhances the app's responsiveness. Moreover, the interface will be refurbished via the Origin Design System, which includes updating color schemes, icons, font styles, and the consistency of the layout.
The Vivo Sans font that is now in use supports more than 40 languages and is enhanced by the Translucent Color and the Dynamic Glow effects. The phone's Lock Screen Grid includes the option of having customized widgets, fonts and photos, whereas the 4x7 home screen layout is for the quick access of adaptive folders and Flip Cards. The main apps such as iManager, Origin Health, and Weather have been given a facelift in terms of smoother transitions and updated interfaces.
The OS updates up to October 2023. OriginOS 6, on the other hand, brings along a new concept of the smart hub displaying contextual suggestions and live updates. The list of AI tools now includes Copy and Go providing an instant text use, Drag and Go for content transfer, and the AI Retouch Suite comprising AI Erase, Image Expander, and Photo Enhance. Smart Call Assistant, DocMaster, AI Creation, AI Search, Office Kit, One-Tap Transfer, Google’s Circle to Search, and Gemini Live are some of the additional AI functions.
The new OS sets Vivo and iQOO apart from other brands and the unification of their smartphone experiences in India under OriginOS will be the positive impact while the withdrawal from FunTouch OS will be the negative impact. Users with compatible devices will get phased updates over a period of time as per the given schedule.
