AMD has officially launched its next-generation RDNA 4 graphics architecture with the introduction of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards. Designed for high-performance gaming, the new Radeon RX 9000 Series delivers significant performance improvements, featuring 16GB of GDDR6 memory. According to AMD, the RX 9070 offers over 20% more performance than the RX 7900 GRE at 1440p gaming, while the RX 9070 XT extends that advantage to over 40%.
Pricing and Availability
The Radeon RX 9000 Series will be available starting March 6, 2025, from leading partners, including Acer, ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX, and Yeston. The RX 9070 XT is priced at an SEP of $599, while the RX 9070 is available for $549.

RDNA 4 Compute Units
The RX 9070 Series features up to 64 unified AMD RDNA 4 Compute Units, offering up to 40% higher gaming performance over RDNA 3.

With improved raytracing capabilities, RDNA 4 delivers over 2x the raytracing throughput per compute unit compared to its predecessor.
Enhanced AI Accelerators
AMD has integrated 2nd Gen AI Accelerators with additional math pipelines, enabling faster AI model processing. These enhancements result in up to 8x INT8 throughput per AI accelerator per compute unit.
FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4)
AMD’s new ML-powered upscaling technology ensures high-quality visuals, even under demanding workloads like 4K gaming with max raytracing. FSR 4 will be supported in over 30 games at launch.
AMD HYPR-RX Technology
Gamers can boost performance using AMD HYPR-RX, which includes Radeon Super Resolution, Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, Anti-Lag, and Radeon Boost for improved FPS, responsiveness, and efficiency.
Radiance Display Engine
The RX 9000 Series supports DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b, enabling up to 8K 144Hz resolution with 12-bit HDR and full REC2020 Color Space for superior visual accuracy.
