The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 has broken all former records with customer traffic of 276 crores, thus becoming the largest-ever festive shopping event Amazon India. The lead was taken by these customers coming from tier 2 and 3 cities, and this showed that electronic commerce is slowly but surely reaching the non-urban areas.

Unmatched Customer Interaction and Discounts

Amazon and its associates offered customers a whopping saving of over ₹1,000 crore through discounts, free GST, and cashback. The #GSTBachatUtsav storefront opened up the way for sellers to pass on GST savings, worth hundreds of crores across the categories of appliances, fashion, essentials, and so on.

The Prime members had the advantage of quicker deliveries—the same-day orders were 60% more than last year, and the improved logistics network made sure that all deliveries were done on time throughout the cities and towns.

Saurabh Srivastava, VP, Amazon India, said,

"The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 has created records of customer visits to the extent of new benchmarks being set. More than 70% of customers being from tier 2 and 3 cities is testimony to our being present in every serviceable pin code and delivering to more than 70% of customers in these areas. Our whole range of sellers includes small businesses, local artisans as well as India-made brands, who have all seen massive growth. We are still making the festival shopping experience rewarding for every Indian customer with speedier deliveries, bank and cashback offers, and GST benefits."

Prime Delivery and Seller Achievements

More than 40 million products were shipped to Prime customers by same-day (14 million, +60% YoY) and next-day (28 million, +22% YoY) deliveries.

Same-day and next-day deliveries to large cities increased by 29%, while two-day deliveries in tier 2 and 3 cities increased by 37%.

The participation of small and medium businesses (SMBs) reached an all-time high, and sellers from Kangra, Haridwar, Muzaffarpur, Jamnagar, Darjeeling, Shimoga, and Salem managed to make sales.

Amazon Bazaar witnessed a twofold increase in participation by sellers, and there was a rise in the number of sellers crossing ₹1 lakh in sales during the festival by 15 times.

Digital Payments and Financial Services

  • One out of four orders was made through UPI which shows a 23% year-on-year increase.
  • No-cost EMI (NCEMI) made up 80% of EMI purchases, a rise of 10% year-on-year across different categories.
  • Amazon Pay Later experienced 84% upswing in new issuances while the utilization of gift card grew by 42% which suggests the increasing popularity of digital gifting.
  • The usage of the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card surged by 10% YoY and the average amount of purchase rose by 15%.

Category Highlights

Consumer Electronics & Appliances:

The premium smartphone segment of the price range of ₹30,000+ grew by 30%, mostly from tier 2 and 3 areas.

There was 105% growth in QLED TVs, 500X in Mini-LED TVs and 21X in MacBook Air M4 demand.

Fashion & Beauty:

Fashion and beauty categories showed a growth of up to 95% YoY, lab-grown diamond jewelry witnessed a massive demand of 390%.

Premium apparel brands gained an increase of 150%, whereas Korean beauty products gained a market share of 75%.

Mobility & Services:

Sales of two-wheelers got a lift of 105%, and this included petrol and electric brands like Bajaj, Ather, KTM, Royal Enfield, Triumph, and JAWA.

The connected mobility products, including smart car systems, increased 88% in demand over the previous year.

Grocery & Everyday Essentials:

Amazon Fresh attracted more customers and thus its sales increased by 60% in tiers 2 and 3, being one of the main factors for the rise in demand.

Sales of premium groceries, baby care products, and festive essentials doubled.

Home, Kitchen & Outdoors:

Decor items for festivals saw a spike in demand by 500% and the demand for treadmills grew by 60% YoY.

The outdoor living tools and security products experienced growth of 137% and 25%, in that order.

Fire TV & Kindle:

Xiaomi Fire TVs were the leading brand in the top-selling lists, and Kindle Paperwhite was the bestselling e-reader in Amazon's catalog.

Amazon Business & Bazaar:

Corporate signing-up grew by 30% YoY, bulk orders by 120%, and corporate gifting by ~60%.

The number of Amazon Bazaar shoppers increased by 150%, of which 65% was from tier 2 and 3 cities.

The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 has reshaped the landscape of festive shopping in India, combining the efficient use of digital technologies, the breadth of selection, and the depth of discounts, while also enabling the sellers in all regions to access the buying power of millions.
