Bharti Airtel and Google on Tuesday formalized a new collaboration to deliver Google One cloud storage services to Airtel’s postpaid and broadband user base. Under this tie-up, eligible customers will be provided 100 GB of Google One cloud storage free for the first six months.
Following the trial period, subscribers opting to continue with the service will see a charge of ₹125 added to their monthly Airtel bill. Users can opt out of the subscription at any time, the companies confirmed.
The offering, available to all Airtel postpaid mobile and Wi-Fi plan users, is intended to address frequent storage constraints experienced by smartphone and tablet users. Cloud-based storage will help customers manage digital files—photos, videos, and documents—without needing to free up space or invest in additional physical storage.
The 100 GB storage can be shared with up to five members. Customers will also be able to use the storage for backing up WhatsApp chats, aiding data recovery and device switching, especially on Android. The cloud service is also accessible on iOS devices.
Separately, Airtel has introduced IPTV access under its Rs 399 Airtel Black plan. The updated offering now combines IPTV with existing benefits like high-speed internet and DTH.
With the addition, customers gain access to over 600 live TV channels and on-demand content from 29 digital streaming platforms, including Netflix, Apple TV+, and Amazon Prime Video.
The move reflects Airtel’s push to consolidate its services under a single bundle, enhancing digital content access for households using its broadband and mobile ecosystem.
