OpenAI revealed its first partnership with the UAE as they plan to deploy Stargate, AI infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This will be the world’s largest data center which is expected to go operational in 2026.According to the reports, OpenAI stated that Stargate UAE “is a new company intending to invest USD 500 billion over the next four years for building a new OpenAI infrastructure in the United States.” OpenAI called “Stargate UAE" as a reflection of the company’s long-term vision to build “frontier-scale compute capacity around the world for safe, secure, and broadly beneficial AGI”.
Stargate UAE, a collaborative effort with G42, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank is also aligned with the UAE’s earlier commitment to invest USD 1.4 trillion in the US, aiming to encourage job creation, stimulate economic growth, and reinforce America's position as a global technology leader.
Stargate UAE is set to reach its objective by deploying advanced AI infrastructure and computing power across a 2,000-mile radius, enabling it to potentially serve almost half of the world’s population. The UAE is set to become the first country to roll out nationwide access to ChatGPT, providing its citizens with broad access to the capabilities of OpenAI’s technology. According to the company, this partnership will empower key sectors, such as government, energy, healthcare, education, and transportation to leverage OpenAI’s tools effectively. The announcement follows a recent visit to the Middle East by U.S. President Donald Trump, during which several major AI agreements were unveiled.
OpenAI to begin projects with other countries

Showing optimism in further pursuing the project across different countries, OpenAI said: “We've already been engaging with other countries around the world that are interested in building their own Stargates.”
