Hinge Founder Justin McLeod Steps Down to Launch AI Dating Platform Overtone

Justin McLeod, the architect of Hinge, has decided to resign his position as chief executive after nearly fifteen years to embark on a new company, Overtone, which is propped up by Match Group, Hinge's mother company and described as a forward-looking, cutting-edge new AI dating platform.

A New Chapter in the History of Hinge

In his goodbye post on LinkedIn, McLeod pledged his enthusiasm for starting another venture, inspired by the new dynamics of social radar. He confirmed that Jackie Jantos, the current Operations and Marketing head, would take over McLeod's position as CEO to ensure future development of Hinge with a strong hand. McLeod gave an assurance to customers and employees that the Hinge team would still strive to form some meaningful relationships.

Overtone is a new dating service not yet in action that stands on the potential of AI and voice tools to enable some thought into, and realism to, online connections.
