As per the news, Google has quietly removed its controversial artificial intelligence (AI) search feature, "What People Suggest." It was providing crowdsourced health advice from amateurs all over the world.

The company had last touted the characteristic as an example of AI's potential to get better global health results. Meanwhile, it has been completely removed in the middle of the growing concerns over the safety and the level of accurate information.

A Google spokesperson gave confirmation on the removal of "What People Suggest." It was an earlier part of a "broader simplification" of its search page. The decision wasn't linked to the safety and quality concerns covering the new feature.

Google search AI feature shutdown comes as Google faces increased study over its use of AI for giving health details and advice to millions of users.

Earlier in January, The Guardian reported that Google's AI Overviews were putting the health of the people at risk due to false and confusing health information.

The AI-generated summaries are revealed to two billion people every month. It seems like the above are the conventional search results on the world's most visited web portal.

In the beginning, Google downplayed the findings by saying that the AI Overviews connected to the renowned sources and advised seeking professional advice.

In March 2025, Google announced plans to develop medical-based AI summaries in search at a New York event.

The company comes up with "What People Suggest.". This feature is aimed at allowing users with the right information from people who have had similar medical experiences.

The idea behind to use AI is to organize various viewpoints from online discussions into easy-to-understand themes for the users who are looking for the real insights about their conditions.
