Adobe has given its Firefly platform a major upgrade, evolving it from a simple image generator into a full-fledged AI powerhouse for creating a wide range of digital content.
Since its launch nearly two years ago, Firefly has helped creators generate more than 22 billion assets worldwide. Now, Adobe is expanding its capabilities to support the creation of images, videos, audio, and vector graphics—all within a single platform.
Introducing New Models for Image and Video Creation
The updated Firefly introduces the new Firefly Image Model 4, available in two versions: Standard and Ultra. According to Adobe, the Standard model covers about 90% of typical creative needs, while the Ultra model is geared toward delivering highly detailed, photorealistic scenes. Both versions promise better rendering of people, animals, and architectural elements, along with more accurate text integration on images.
Enhanced controls now let users fine-tune their creations even further, with options like aesthetic filters, style selectors, and precise composition adjustments.
Firefly Video Model Officially Launched
Alongside the image updates, Adobe has officially rolled out the Firefly Video Model. This tool can generate video clips up to five seconds long, supporting a variety of resolutions (up to 1080p) and aspect ratios like 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1.
Adobe emphasizes that the video model is "commercially safe," as it was trained exclusively on licensed Adobe content. Firefly Premium plan users get unlimited access to the video generation features across all Firefly apps.
The Firefly Video Model brings major improvements in photorealism, detail, text rendering, landscapes, and visual effects. Creators can also customize camera movements and switch between text, image, and video inputs to guide their content generation.
With these sweeping updates, Adobe is positioning Firefly as a must-have creative companion for artists, marketers, and content creators across industries.
