Adobe Photoshop Beta Now Live on Android with AI Tools

Adobe has rolled out the beta version of its Photoshop app for Android users via the Google Play Store, marking a significant expansion of its mobile image-editing capabilities. The beta release allows Android device owners to experiment with professional-grade photo editing and AI-based tools previously limited to desktop or iOS platforms.
Though the app can be installed at no cost, some advanced tools remain locked behind a subscription. Users can explore basic features such as image layering, object masking, blemish removal, and blending effects. Additionally, the app supports Adobe Firefly-driven Generative AI capabilities that let users edit images by expanding scenes or altering visual content entirely.
Android users running Android 11 or later with a minimum of 6GB RAM are eligible to download the beta app. Adobe, however, advises 8GB or more for optimal performance. The company also introduced over 1,500 new fonts, with support for ten Indian languages, enhancing localization and creative expression.
The mobile version mirrors several hallmark tools found in the desktop edition, including Generative Fill, layer-based editing, and object selection. The app is tailored for both emerging creators and seasoned professionals, offering tools to design cover art, create video thumbnails, build vision boards, and document creative thoughts instantly.
In a blog post, Adobe stated that the mobile app aims to deliver creative freedom on-the-go. It enables experienced users to review and tweak projects remotely while also giving new creators an easy entry point into professional image design.
This Android release follows Adobe’s ongoing push to integrate AI and multi-platform access into its product ecosystem, including recent updates focused on enhancing 4K and vertical video editing through artificial intelligence.
