Aadhaar App 2025: Update Name & Address Without Visiting Any Center

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is preparing a mobile application for Aadhaar holders, designed to allow users to update personal information digitally. The app will reduce the need for in-person visits to Aadhaar Seva Kendras by enabling online updates for details such as name, address, and date of birth.
Officials confirm the application is on track for release by the end of this year. Once live, it will provide a single platform for users to manage Aadhaar-related updates securely and efficiently.
The upcoming Aadhaar application aims to allow users to modify key information directly from their smartphones. In addition to personal details, the app is expected to handle verification using AI-driven Face ID technology. This approach will maintain security while streamlining the user experience nationwide.
Beginning in November, biometric verification—including fingerprint and iris scans—will remain necessary only for identity authentication at enrollment centers. This step seeks to simplify procedures, reduce paperwork, prevent identity fraud, and accelerate the update process for all users.
The UIDAI app will fetch relevant data from verified government sources to ease documentation requirements. Supported records may include birth certificates, PAN cards, passports, driving licenses, ration cards under the Public Distribution System (PDS), and MNREGA employment records. Electricity bills may also be used for address verification, enabling a smoother, faster update process.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) introduced the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal to facilitate Aadhaar authentication approvals. The platform is designed to improve efficiency, simplify submissions, and ensure greater accessibility of Aadhaar services.
