A New Look At How Android XR Will Bring Gemini To Glasses And Headsets

Google announced brand-new developments in Android XR, introducing AI-powered smart glasses created with brands such as Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
Fueled by Gemini, these glasses help without hands by presenting the user’s perspective to the system, which makes instant translation, navigation, and texting easy. Because they are designed for all-day usage, the glasses fit easily with Android phones, allowing you to use them naturally.
According to Google, "These glasses, equipped with a camera, microphones, and speakers, work in tandem with your phone, giving you access to your apps without ever having to reach in your pocket. And an optional in-lens display privately provides helpful information right when you need it. Pairing these glasses with Gemini means they see and hear what you do, so they understand your context, remember what's important to you, and can help you throughout your day."
Furthermore, in order to create a reference platform for future XR growth, Google, Samsung, and Qualcomm are also joining forces. In fact, user feedback will direct product changes when developer tools launch later this year.
