OnePlus 15 unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, redesigned camera island, and new DetailMax image engine.

OnePlus has officially unveiled its next flagship — the OnePlus 15 — at the recently concluded Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. The smartphone will be the first in the world to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, setting a new benchmark for Android performance.
New Imaging System with DetailMax
For the first time, OnePlus is moving away from its Hasselblad partnership, introducing its in-house DetailMax image engine. According to the brand, this advanced system uses powerful processors and algorithms to deliver photos that are “breathtakingly clear and truly real.”
The camera design has also been refreshed. Instead of the circular camera island, the OnePlus 15 sports a vertically aligned triple-camera module, resembling the design of the recently launched OnePlus 13s.
Display and Software
At the event, OnePlus confirmed that the device will feature a 165Hz display, though it remains uncertain if this specification will apply to the global model. Out of the box, the OnePlus 15 will run OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and is expected to receive five years of OS updates along with six years of security patches.
Battery and Charging
Rumors suggest that the smartphone will pack a 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. If true, this would make the OnePlus 15 one of the most power-packed devices in the market.
Camera Setup
Speculations indicate that the phone will house a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Expected Launch
While OnePlus has not yet announced an official release date, the OnePlus 15 is expected to debut first in China before its global rollout.
At the Snapdragon Summit, other manufacturers including iQOO, Vivo, and Xiaomi also confirmed their plans to launch smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
