On Thursday, Apple showcased its new 14-inch MacBook Pro, which is driven by the M5 chip, its most recent Apple Silicon chip. The M5 chip is claimed to be a neural accelerator in each GPU core and, thus, responsible for AI and graphics being the two areas of the M5 chip where significant gains are made. The M5 chip is said to make it possible for the AI tasks of the previous M4 chip still to run up to that much138 faster.

Besides all this, the M5 chip enhances the CPU performance, doubles the memory bandwidth, and produces the graphics with less power. In fact, Apple claims that the combo of these supercharged components turns the MacBook Pro into a beast that can effortlessly run all sorts of applications - even the biggest language models right on the device. And on top of that, the fast SSD thereby built supports quicker data transfers and app starts.

The 14" M5 MacBook Pro will be in stock from October 22 at a price of Rs. 1,69,900. M4 Pro and M4 Max systems issued last year with 14-inch and 16-inch models continue to be available from Apple.

The computer has a display that features a Liquid Retina XDR panel which can come with a nano-texture finish as an option to eliminate the glare. It will have a 12MP camera that uses Center Stage technology to automatically keep the user in focus during video calls, as well as an audio system made up of six speakers. It can be outfitted with an SSD of up to 1TB and unified memory of up to 24GB.

M5 comes with a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Each GPU core gets its own Neural Accelerator, producing a 3.5 times increase in AI performance over the M4 and up to 6 times faster than the M1 first generation. Apple mentioned to us that the M5 CPU cores offer an overall faster performance in multithreading of 20% compared to the M4 so it is perfect for coding, 3D rendering, and other complex multitasking workflows. Performance Benchmarks

Apple has released some benchmark comparisons that demonstrate the capabilities of the M5:

The AI video enhancement in Topaz Video is up to 7.7 times faster than the 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro and 1.8 times faster than the 14-inch M4 model.

Blender's 3D rendering can give up to 6.8 times the speed of the 13-inch M1 version and 1.7 times faster than the 14-inch M4.

Awesome gaming frame rates rise by up to 3.2 times the 13-inch M1 and 1.6 times the 14-inch M4.

Xcode build performance has up to 2.1 times faster than the 13-inch M1 and 1.2 times the 14-inch M4.

The latest MacBook Pro has macOS Tahoe 26, which has a new Liquid Glass interface with translucent and reflective elements. The users will see new color choices for folders, app icons, and widgets. Apple Intelligence is now more powerful with tools such as Live Translation for Messages, FaceTime, and Phone apps, and also advanced automation via Shortcuts to make daily tasks easier.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 puts Apple in a position to take the lead even more in performance laptops, especially the ones using AI, creatives, and developers who want fast processing power on the device.
