Hyderabad: In an enthralling message to the audience at Sri City, Swami Smaranananda, Vice-President of the Yoga Satsanga Society of India (YSS), asserted that meditation offers a practical and enduring solution to stress, anxiety, and the relentless pressures of contemporary life. Speaking at a special lecture organised by Sri City’s spiritual and literary forum Srivani in association with YSS, the Swamiji underlined that inner peace is not something to be acquired externally, but realised through disciplined inner practice.
Sri City Managing Director Dr Ravindra Sannareddy formally welcomed Swami Smaranananda and expressed gratitude for his visit and guidance to the Sri City community. The Swamiji was felicitated on the occasion in recognition of his contribution to spiritual education and outreach.
Swamiji observed that although material comforts are plentiful, they often lead to restlessness. While material comforts abound, he noted, they often bring unrest. He explained that meditation nourishes the soul, just as food strengthens the body and sleep restores the mind. In doing so, it awakens inner clarity and lasting happiness.
Referring to the Taittiriya Upanishad, Swamiji described the divine as Sachidananda—existence, consciousness, and bliss—and emphasised meditation as the means to experience this state.
