The Legend Behind Kaal Bhairav Jayanti

According to Hindu scriptures, once Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma argued about who was supreme among the gods. When Brahma refused to acknowledge Lord Shiva’s superiority, Shiva manifested as Kaal Bhairav, emerging from his own forehead.

In his wrathful form, Kaal Bhairav cut off one of Brahma’s five heads to humble his arrogance. Realizing his mistake, Lord Brahma sought forgiveness, and Kaal Bhairav became known as the Lord of Time and Justice, revered for maintaining cosmic balance.
