Amaravati: The address by Governor Justice (retd) S Abdul Nazeer to the joint session of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature during the first day of the budget session was disrupted for sometime, culminating into a walkout by the YSRCP MLAs led by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy here on Wednesday.

The Opposition members raised slogans and displayed placards against the NDA coalition alleging vindictive attitude by the government against political detractors and demanded Leader of Opposition (LoP) status to Jagan Mohan Reddy. They alleged that corruption is rampant in the State and the privatisation of medical colleges was totally against the public sentiments.

Raising full-throated slogans 'idi yemi rajyam, dopidi rajyam (the regime is looting), in the din that followed nothing was audible for sometime as the coalition members went on thumping the desks hailing the Governor's address. As soon as the session bagan, the YSRCP legislators were on their feet demanding a discussion on alleged adulteration of ghee in the marking of Tirumala Laddus. SIT formed by CBI found fault with some people for the adulteration, while the State Government has decided to form a one-man committee for a comprehensive probe into the scam and to bring all those involved in the adulteration to the book with a fixed time-frame.

The Governor, who continued his speech, did not pay any attention to the pandemonium created by the Opposition MLAs.
