Youth for Anti Corruption honors 5 honest ex-MLAs

Hyderabad: In an effort to celebrate the MLA’s who have worked ethically and honestly for a positive change in society, Youth for Anti Corruption (YAC) organised a felicitation ceremony in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The event was chaired by Rajendra Palnati, Founder of YAC, while former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana and renowned music director & actor RP Patnaik were the chief guests.
On this occasion Lakshminarayana emphasised the importance of honouring honest MLA’s, stating that politics today has veered away from its true purpose of serving the people. He called for a change in mindset and urged everyone to use their voting power wisely.
RP Patnaik echoed the sentiment, expressing his concern about the current state of politics. He emphasised the need for more righteous and honest individuals in power. He also praised the efforts of the YAC in promoting positive change.
A Vittal Reddy, Kondigari Ramulu, Kommidi Narsimha Reddy, Bakkana Narsimhulu, and D Surender Rao are the ex-MLA’s recognised for their honest contribution to society, and were felicitated at the event. Vittal Reddy, who served Ramayampeta constituency twice, was lauded for his dedication and for selling 35 acres of agricultural land in his native village to raise funds for public service.
Kondigari Ramulu, former MLA from Ibrahimpatnam also won from the constituency twice, and was praised for his modest election expenditure, which was only Rs 88,000 in 1989 and Rs 3 lakh in 1994. Kommidi Narsimha Reddy, former MLA, Bhuvanagiri, was another honoree, who won the constituency twice in 1978 and 1983, and has always been a champion of public issues in the Assembly and other public forums. Bakkana Narsimhulu, former MLA, Shad Nagar, was recognised for his honesty, dedication to the people, and preservation of Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Shad Nagar. He chose to live a simple and solitary life after his public service.
D Surender Rao, former MLA, Jagityala, was also honored for his service as an MLA and Chairman of State and National Housing Federation Corporation.
Rajendra Palnati explained that the organisation is dedicated to creating a society that values good leadership and honest public service.
