Vizag Police probe into controversial 'audio clip' involving Minister

Visakhapatnam The Visakhapatnam Police has begun a probe into an audio clip which went viral in social media with the purported voice of Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao in which he was heard inviting a woman to spend some time with him.

Rao was the third prominent person of YSR Congress Party found in an embarrassing situation after the 'audio leak.' Earlier, party spokesperson and MLA Ambati Rambabu and SVBC channel Chairman and film actor Prudhvi Raj also faced similar allegations. Prudhvi Raj had to quit the post from the channel run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

The police registered a case a day after Srinivasa Rao asked the Commissioner of Police to register an FIR and probe the authenticity of the audio clip. He said he was a God fearing person and out of political jealousy over his successful stint as a Minister after he quit Telugu Desam Party just before 2019 elections, some people might have tried to assassinate his character.
