Hyderabad: The Hyderabad chapter of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) on Thursday said it received the 'Best Support to Women Entrepreneurs' award at the global flagship TiE Global Retreat at Rome, Italy. The award was given by the global board of trustees of TiE. The chapter said it was recognised for its excellence in diversity and empowerment of over 100 women entrepreneurs.

TiE Hyderabad contended against 40 national and international TiE chapters. The other competing chapters were TiE New York, TiE Dubai, TiE South California, TiE London, TiE Atlanta, TiE Delhi, and TiE Bangalore among others. The evaluation committee involved TiE Global Board of Trustees, including B J Arun, Chairman, TiE Global, and Smitha Sidhanti, former co-Chair- TiE Women, along with others.

Murali Bukkapatnam, Vice Chairman, TiE Global and Co Chair, TiE Global Summit 2022 said, "TiE champions the cause for women empowerment in entrepreneurship. Our activities, awards, and panels dedicated to the cause during the TiE Global Summit 2022 will reflect our reinforcing endorsement of skillful fempreneurs in the city and in India."

TiE Hyderabad said it has in place a robust system for the development of its women entrepreneurs. Besides, their structured mentorship programmes have led to successful entrepreneurs. 'Through these boot camps and mentor sessions, many female-driven startups have showcased progressive results. From mock pitching sessions to individual clinical mentoring, the sessions are comprehensive and designed to engage key investors," TiE added.

The entrepreneurs represent startups of different stages and sectors, ranging from manufacturing, biosciences, fashion, social enterprise, agri & biotech to edutech.
