Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, the minister of roads and buildings, called the arrest a "drama" meant to generate sympathy for the BRS in the run-up to the parliamentary elections. However, individuals are cognizant of their affiliation and will not be deceived, he mentioned. Her arrest, according to TPCC Vice President G Niranjan, was "enacted" on Friday to coincide with Prime Minister Modi's road show in the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency.
He also added,
“Kavitha was arrested by the BJP government is a drama hatched by BJP and BRS in collusion. ED which has been silent for all these days suddenly woke up and took up a search and arrested Kavitha, just a day before the announcement of the election schedule. This was done with an intention to create sympathy in favour of BRS.’’
The BRS was already reeling from losing power when Kavitha's arrest came as a shock. On the condition of anonymity, senior party leaders who spoke with PTI said that the arrest of the prominent BRS leader will have an effect on party morale.
Kavitha's Arrest Effects on Telangana Politics
Political analyst S Nagesh Kumar expressed that,
“It (the arrest) will definitely show an impact on the party because she is an important voice in the party and moreover she is KCR’s daughter. So, there will be a sort of psychological impact on the party. No matter how big a person, they will have to pay the price for their actions, omissions, or commissions.”
After Kavitha's arrest, Harish Rao spoke to the media and claimed that the BRS party was the intended target of the conspiracy that led to her arrest. As he sees it, Kavitha is currently appealing the ED summonses in the Supreme Court, and this arrest has occurred at the same time.
