Visakhapatnam: A target has been set for credit plan projections of Rs 4.43 lakh crore for Andhra Pradesh during 2023-24 based on achievements in the Q3 of last fiscal.

The credit plan for this year will be 39 per cent more than last year’s target. The salient features for the proposed credit plan include short-term production loans of Rs 1.48 lakh crore, Rs 2.31 lakh crore for agriculture sector and micro enterprises Rs 36,000 crore and small enterprises Rs 22,000 crore. The target set for medium enterprises is Rs 10,500 crore. The MSME sector has got the target of Rs 69,000 crore. While the priority sector has been earmarked Rs 3.23 lakh crore, the non-priority sector has been allotted Rs 1.20 lakh crore.

The State Level Bankers’ Committee meeting was attended here by Union Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Kishan Rao Karad and AP Deputy Chief Minister B Mutyala Raju on Tuesday.

The Central Minister earlier released appointment orders to several youth at the fifth tranche of Rozgar Mela conducted at the Port Kalavani Auditorium. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Central Government is focusing on employment generation in various departments.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed virtually the Rozgar Melas held simultaneously at 45 locations. The mela in the city was organised by the Department of Posts and it evoked a very good response, said Post Master General Col Ramulu.
