Sanjay Nirupam Expelled from Congress, Poised to Join Shinde-Led Sena Faction

The Congress has removed Sanjay Nirupam, its former Mumbai unit chief, from the party for six years. This decision follows Nirupam's demand for the Mumbai North-West seat and his ultimatum to the party. Sources indicate he may join Shiv Sena under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's leadership.

Sanjay Nirupam's expulsion from Congress and decision to join Shinde-led Sena faction was attributed to allegations of making anti-party statements and indiscipline. The decision was made without issuing a show cause notice, directly resulting in Nirupam's removal from the party.
