Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke at a public gathering in Hyderabad, emphasising the need for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Legislation in India, pointing out that many progressive Islamic nations already have one. He stressed that the BJP fulfils its promises to the people, unlike other parties.

G Kishan Reddy, a BJP candidate in the Secunderabad constituency, was also present. Rajnath Singh criticised the Bharath Rashtra Samithi and Congress for their credibility crisis in politics.

He highlighted BJP's commitment to development without playing divisive politics based on region, religion, or caste. He cited BJP's track record of fulfilling promises, including the construction of the Ram Mandir and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajnath Singh Statement is reiteration of BJP's pledge to implement a UCC, mentioning Uttarakhand as the first state to enact it. The UCC Implementation in Uttarakhand Assembly covers laws related to successions, divorce, marriage, and live-in relationships.

In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, BJP has promised to implement UCC nationwide as outlined in its manifesto, emphasising legal reform in India. The elections are scheduled for May 13, with results on June 4. In the 2019 elections, TRS won nine seats, while BJP and Congress secured four and three seats, respectively.

Rajnath Singh's remarks come amid Congress's recent victory in the state assembly elections, ending TRS's nine-year rule. The general elections in Telangana are crucial given the recent political shifts and the BJP's pledge for nationwide UCC implementation, which would impact Religious Personal Laws.
