Quality Circle convention begins at VSP

Visakhapatnam: A two-day Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts 2022 with a theme 'Integrated quality concepts – the gateway to global leadership' was inaugurated by A K Saxena, Director (Operations) RINL at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Ukkunagaram on Thursday.

The convention is being organised by Quality Circle forum of India, Visakhapatnam chapter in which about 550 delegates from 28 organisations are participating. They will present their case studies on Quality Circles, Lean Quality Circles, 5S Workplace Management System, Kaizen, Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma concepts. The convention brings industry personnel together to present their group activities, continual improvement case studies and showcase best practices adopted at their workplace.

Inaugurating the convention, Saxena said that employee involvement is the key to success at the workplace. He reiterated that RINL has been giving top priority to employee involvement and continual improvement initiatives like Quality Circles and 5S Workplace Management System.

K K Ghosh, Director (Projects) RINL and the chairman of QCFI, Visakhapatnam chapter said that to ensure durable and sustainable growth, innovative ideas through Quality Circles and Total Quality Management (TQM) concepts will be enablers for the growth of any organisation. He expressed hope that the convention will be a good learning platform to exchange creative ideas from each other.
