LPG cylinders at Rs 500 under Maha Lakshmi

AICC leader Priyanka Gandhi will introduce the two election promises offered by the Congress government: the Maha Lakshmi scheme, which provides LPG cylinders at Rs 500, and the Gruha Jyothi scheme, which offers 42.07 lakh households 200 units of free electricity. After offering prayers at the Sammakka Saralamma (Medaram) Jatara on Friday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy addressed a press conference in Medaram and made the announcement.

Reducing the financial burden on low-income families and improving their quality of life are the stated goals of the two programs in the state government's operational guidelines. Full payment is required upon cylinder delivery; after a deduction of Rs 500, the state government will credit the recipients' accounts with the subsidy.

To ensure that the listed beneficiaries receive subsidised cylinders, the state government will advance funds to oil marketing companies (OMCs) on a monthly basis. These companies include HPCL, BPCL, and IOCL.

Free power for households in Gruha Jyothi scheme

Applications received through Praja Palana and applicants with ration cards will be considered for the Gruha Jyothi program. Households that qualify for this program will have the option to use one service connection to receive free electricity for up to 200 units of domestic consumption per month. No bills will be generated if an eligible household's monthly electricity consumption is less than 200 units. Otherwise, the current procedure will be followed to generate the bill for the total units consumed in that month.

The current count for the launch of the scheme is 42,07,209. In order to put this plan into action, Distribution Companies will receive subsidy amounts from the state government every month.
