Our thrust on welfare led to increase in peoples' purchase power, says Jagan

Vijayawada Explaining the importance of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the ongoing assembly session, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday reiterated the importance of welfare schemes in achieving a positive growth while competing with 30 other States.

He explained that only three States had a better positive constant GSDP growth rate than Andhra Pradesh. He emphasised that this was achieved only because of the government's efficiency in managing the demand and supply through DBT schemes like Chedodu, Ammavodi, and other welfare programmes.

In all these schemes, money was pumped directly into the hands of the public. "This has been made possible only because we managed to save the people at the bottom-most end of the pyramid of the economy," he said.
