Modi addresses NDA rally after 10 years in AP, seeks votes for 'double engine sarkar'

Chilakaluripet (Palnadu dist): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the first rally of National Democratic Alliance comprising TDP, BJP and Jana Sena Party after a gap of 10 years and appealed to people of Andhra Pradesh to vote for 'double engine sarkar' to ensure better growth.
He was addressing a mammoth 'Prajagalam' rally at Boppudi near here. The Prime Minister said there is an urgent and growing need to give a hattrick to the NDA Government at the Centre and give a decisive mandate to the TDP and its allies BJP and JSP in Andhra Pradesh. He said the people of AP have already decided to reelect the NDA at the Centre and vote out the 'highly corrupt' YSRCP Government led by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The meeting, addressed by TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu, JSP chief and filmstar Pawan Kalyan and BJP State president Daggubati Purandeswari, was frequently interrupted due to malfunctioning of the microphone system. At one point of time, breaking the protocol when Pawan was speaking, Modi directed the police to remove people who had occupied the tower.
Contrary to the expectations, Modi did not mention about special category status, development of Amaravati, bailing out RINL by merging it with SAIL or announcing a special package for Andhra Pradesh. However, he said NDA had sanctioned several premier insitutes like IIM, NIT, IIT, IIIT, Central University of Tribal, AIIMS, National Institute of Design and Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy to transform AP into an education hub. He also gave details of benefits Andhra Pradesh got due to welfare schemes launched by the NDA. He stated that 10 lakh houses were sanctioned under PM's Awas Yojana. Free insurance up to Rs.5 lakh was sanctioned to 1.25 lakh crore in the State.
The Prime Minister said "the people have decided to vote for NDA at the Centre and to show the doors to the YSRCP Government. In Andhra Pradesh there is a competition among the Ministers in corruption.
Earlier, Naidu, Pawan and Purandeswari have called for strengthening NDA to build 'Navya Andhra Pradesh' with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and blamed Jagan for retarding progress and derailing development by putting a pause to building Amaravati as the capital.
