Vijayawada: Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, who defeated TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh in 2019 on Tuesday made a U-turn by rejoining YSR Congress Party after announcing his resignation from the party and the Assembly membership.
He had also met APCC president YS Sharmila which fuelled speculation that he may contest on the Congress ticket. Fondly called RK by his supporters, he called on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Tadepalli residence and declared that his leadership is required to continue welfare schemes for the SC, ST, BCs and other downtrodden and backward people. He said he had decided to make a home-coming to YSRCP, as it had fielded a BC candidate from Mangalagiri and the party was instrumental in making him MLA twice.
