Hyderabad: At the launch of Telangana State Robotics Framework, State IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao announced to set up a separate body called Telangana Robotics Innovation Center (TRIC) as the nodal body to spearhead all initiatives and act as the central agency for all stakeholders. It shall work with the State’s innovation ecosystem comprising T-Hub and WeHub to support startups.

Also, the TRIC shall be supported by T-Works - India’s largest prototyping facility, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) for training the workforce, Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) for fostering innovation at the grassroots level, RICH (Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad) for facilitating the process of taking research to market, and All India Robotics Association (AIRA).

On the occasion, KTR said: “We live in an interesting era of the 4th Industrial Revolution which is driven by emerging technologies and is disrupting many sectors. Harnessing it in the right way will give us the necessary impetus to be a global leader in technology adoption. We chose eight emerging technologies including robotics to drive ecosystem development and government adoption in these areas.”

“As Telangana continues to strive towards technological advancements and development, the State is committed to embracing new technologies and promoting innovation across sectors, ensuring a better tomorrow for all. With the Telangana Robotics Framework, I believe that we shall be poised to positively impact the lives of its citizens through the innovative use of robotics technology,” he added.

Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary ITE&C and Industries, Telangana said, “We are confident that the launch of the framework will catalyse the growth of the robotics industry here. We believe that the TRIC will be set up soon to play a pivotal role in implementing the framework and fostering a sustainable robotics ecosystem in the State.”

Rama Devi Lanka, Director of Emerging Technologies, said: “The launch of the Telangana Robotics Framework is a significant milestone in our efforts to foster a robust robotics industry. We have been working towards the development and adoption of emerging technologies, including robotics. We firmly believe that robotics technology has immense potential to transform various sectors and drive growth.”
