Guntur cancer hospital gets digital support 

Vijayawada: NATCO Cancer Centre, Government General hospital, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh government's flagship cancer hospital, on Thursday announced the installation of Dozee's Contactless Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Early Warning System (EWS).

The devices powered by next-generation AI algorithms track vital parameters of patients undergoing cancer treatment and help health care providers (HCPs) identify early clinical deterioration of the patients for timely medical intervention. This helps HCPs to provide better care with improved patient safety and improves the operational efficiency of the nursing staff.

This solution is provided to the hospital under the 'Million ICU Initiative' of Dozee for transforming public healthcare in India.

Dr Durgaprasad, professor and head of Radiation Oncology, NATCO Guntur said, "Cancer patients need constant vital monitoring, timely critical care and at the same time are highly prone to associated infections. By adopting Dozee's contactless patient monitoring, nurses and doctors can prioritize critical patients as a result of the timely alerts sent out by these devices. Digital health innovation plays a key role in enhancing patient care and addressing burnout in the healthcare workforce."

The NATCO Cancer Centre is part of the State's comprehensive cancer care roadmap. Close to Rs 45 crore was spent by the NATCO Trust to construct this advanced cancer care hospital, while the Andhra Pradesh State government invested over Rs 25crore in procuring ultra-modern technology.

G S Naveen Kumar, Special Secretary Digital Health, AP said "In line with the Chief Minister's vision and Andhra Pradesh government's comprehensive cancer care roadmap, the NATCO Cancer Centre at Guntur has partnered with Dozee to install remote patient monitoring devices to improve the healthcare delivery for cancer patients. Digital interventions in the public healthcare ecosystem will significantly improve the quality of life for oncology patients while creating the impetus necessary for innovation through Made-in-India technologies."
