Visakhapatnam: Gaiety marked the celebration of 74th Republic Day in Visakhapatnam, the industrial hub of Andhra Pradesh with the managements organising various programmes like rallies, ceremonial parades and plating of trees and taking a pledge to excel productivity by improving techno-economic parameters and putting up a collective effort.

After unfurling the national flag at a celebration organised by the Visakhapatnam Port Authority, its Chairman K Rama Mohana Rao presented citations/mementos to meritorious employees and lauded the efforts of the trade union leaders, stevedores, exporters, importers and other stakeholders for their contribution in improving the performance of the port.

After reviewing the parade at Ukkunagaram, RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Atul Bhatt congratulated the entire RINL collective who worked together to achieve record production and also for bagging several prestigious awards at national and international levels.

On same day, Hindustan Shipyard Ltd CMD Hemant Khatri presented commendation letters to the employees for their meritorious services rendered during the year and addressed the employees.

While thanking the employees for their cooperation, he highlighted about 75th Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) commitments including 22 reforms that have been undertaken at HSL in 2022. He stated that HSL is promoting MSMEs and various initiatives have been undertaken to support and strengthen them as part of facilitating Ease of doing Business.

NTPC Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant Group General Manager Sanjay Kumar Sinha addressing R-Day parade at Deepanjalinagar said power is a crucial component for growth of any economy and NTPC, the country's largest power generating company with the total installed capacity of 7.15 lakh MW (including joint ventures) has big responsibility towards powering the Nation.

MD of Bhavanapadu Port Development Corporation Ltd (BPDCL) T S N Murthy said Andhra Pradesh Government has embarked upon construction of three minor ports - Ramayapatnam, Machilipatnam and Bhavanapadu and nine fishing harbours across the State. These establishments will change the scale of the economy of the State and tremendously improve the lifestyle of people in the vicinity of the project.

Dredging Corporation of India Ltd officiating MD and CEO S Divakar in his address said the company has achieved certain milestones with minimum downtime and maximum efficiency of the dredgers.
