The BJP is mobilizing significant efforts in the United States to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's re-election bid in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The 'Overseas Friends of BJP' (OFBJP) in the US has devised a plan to make over 25 lakh calls to people in India, urging them to vote for Modi and aiming for a record-breaking 400-plus seats. More than two dozen teams across the US have been formed to make targeted calls and strategize according to different states and languages. BJP's overseas supporters' role in ensuring Modi 3.0 is crucial in this concerted effort.
OFBJP USA President, Adapa Prasad, revealed that preparations began in December, with a kickoff event planned in February across 20-22 cities spanning 18 states. The focus is to engage sympathizers, volunteers, and community leaders who support Modi's vision for India's growth. They aim to showcase the achievements of the Modi government over the past five years and its impact on India's global standing and relations with the US.
The OFBJP is set to organize "Chai Pe Charcha" gatherings to discuss the BJP's development agenda and urge NRIs and the Indian diaspora to encourage their friends and families to vote for the BJP. The goal is ambitious - to secure 400 seats for the BJP and its allies. International support for BJP's election campaigns amplifies these efforts.
Prasad highlighted the diverse language and state-specific outreach efforts, with call centers established at the county level and volunteers covering regions from Jammu and Kashmir to Kerala. They anticipate making around 2.5 million calls and sending a delegation of 3,000 Indian Americans to campaign for the BJP.
There is close coordination between OFBJP USA and the BJP in India, with plans for car rallies across different cities during the elections aimed at raising awareness about India's progress under the BJP government. The BJP's international outreach strategies highlight its determination to secure a strong mandate in the upcoming elections.
