DIFC Court Judge joins IAMC, Hyd Governing Council

Hyderabad: Justice Shamlan Al Sawalehi, Court of Appeal Judge and Judge in Charge of the Arbitration Division, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Court and Abhinav Bhushan, Chief Executive, Asia & Member, International Arbitrator, 39 Essex Chambers join the Governing Council of the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC), Hyderabad.
They will be joining global arbitration experts such as Sir Bernard Eder, Toby Landau and Dr E Y Park amongst others who are members of the IAMC Governing Council. Tariq Khan, Registrar of IAMC, said: "I am confident that their extensive expertise in the field of dispute resolution will be of great benefit. We look forward to working with them."
Justice Shamlan Al Sawalehi has had a distinguished career, having experience over 23 years in international commercial and financial litigation in common, civil and Shariah laws. He was appointed as Court of Appeal Judge in 2017 and appointed by the DIFC Courts Chief Justice as Judge in charge of the Arbitration.
Justice Shamlan also served as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and chairman of many arbitral tribunals. Abinav Bhushan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the council and is well-respected in the legal community for their expertise in arbitration.
