Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath on Wednesday came down heavily on his predecessor and TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu for making sweeping allegations against the YSRCP government by 'distorting facts.'

Describing it as a 'travesty of truth,' Rajendranath told the media that the impressive performance by the State government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had been appreciated by the Niti Aayog and several Central ministries.

He said the State had secured numero uno status in Ease of Doing Business even after the government of India and the World Bank introduced ranking for the first time after taking into consideration the opinion of the stakeholders on the investment landscape.

The Minister wondered how Ramakrishnudu despite having served as Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh before and after bifurcation is making allegations without any valid points and data. "He twists facts and quotes points by resorting to copy paste of various data released by the Central agencies to suit his requirement. Such twisting of facts will not convince the people," he stated.

Rajendranath said Ramakrishnudu should have gone to the field and his erstwhile constituency to know the feedback from the people on how happy they are on the performance by the present government. "They handed over power to us with empty coffers.

They even kept bills pending for welfare hostels and mid-day meals. We cleared them after forming the government," he claimed.

The Minister said they had settled pending bills worth a whopping amount of Rs 40,000 crore. They in fact started various schemes and projects without financial and administrative sanction, a pointer to the fact of misuse of power by the erstwhile government, he alleged.
