Hyderabad: A significant development has taken place in Telangana politics. The BRS on Tuesday officially announced the suspension of Kalvakuntla Kavitha from the party.

It is known that she has been making comments that have crossed the party line for some time now. However, it has been made clear that this decision has been taken because Kavitha's comments are causing damage to the party.

The letter issued by General Secretary T Ravinder Rao and Party Disciplinary Affairs Committee Member Soma Bharat Kumar stated that the BRS high command has taken a serious view of Kavitha's behavior as she is engaged in anti-party activities that are damaging to the party and that President K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken a decision to suspend her from the party immediately.

The rift between Kavitha and the party emerged during the BRS silver jubilee celebrations. Her public letter regarding KCR's speech caused quite a stir. Following that, she expressed dissatisfaction with her brother, the party's working president, KT Rama Rao. Moreover, her derogatory remarks about former minister Jagadish Reddy, referring to him as a Lilliput, became a topic of significant conversation.

On Monday, she made grave allegations against senior party leader Harish Rao and former Rajya Sabha member Santosh Rao. In response to her shocking comments, KT Rama Rao quickly went to the Erravalli farmhouse in Siddipet district, where former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao was resting, to address the situation.

During their discussion, BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao reportedly concluded that Kavitha's recent actions and anti-party stance were detrimental to the party's reputation, leading to the decision to suspend her from the party.
