Unable to face me alone in the political arena, TDP-JSP-BJP is united to conspire against me. Unfortunately, my two sisters (referring to Sharmila and Sunita) are being used as part of their conspiracy - Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

The family feud in the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh took a new twist on Thursday with YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday blaming his sister YS Sharmila and their cousin N Sunita for accusing Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy and others involvement in the sensational murder of former Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy on the eve of 2019 elections.

Sharmila and Sunita, daughter of Vivekananda Reddy, former MP, had alleged the Chief Minister was shielding Avinash, their cousin, from getting arrested in the murder case now probed by CBI. The premier investigation has made him an accused in the chargesheet. Sharmila is locked in a multi-corner contest for Kadapa seat against Avinash.

Mohan Reddy before filing nomination from Pulivendula Assembly segment in Kadapa district amid fanfare said people have to decide the successor of late YSR, not those who have joined hands with others trying to erase his name from people's minds. He said his cousin and Kadapa MP Avinash has done no wrong, and he strongly believed it denying the charges made by his sister Sharmila.

He said the Opposition is using his two sisters Sharmila and Sunita, daughter of his uncle Vivekananda Reddy adding the people have to decide the successor of the legendary leader YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who brought development to Pulivendula and later taken to greater heights by the YSRCP government, not those who joined hands with others trying to erase his name from the people's minds during the public meeting before filing his nomination in Pulivendula.

Taking a dig at the Opposition leaders, he said, “Unable to face me alone in the political arena, TDP-JSP-BJP is united to conspire against me. Unfortunately, my two sisters (referring to Sharmila and Sunita) are being used as part of their conspiracy.”

He asked the people to remember who worked to erase the reputation of the late YSR by filing cases and mentioning his name in the chargesheet, post his demise.

“It was Congress which tried to hide the YSR legacy. Congress didn’t even receive as many votes as NOTA did. Further, Congress was responsible for Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation and neglected to include the special category status in the State Reorganisation Act. Will anyone vote for the Congress that has broken the state?” asked Jagan.
