Amarnath vows to bring more investments

Vijayawada: Minister for IT, Infrastructure and Industries Gudivada Amarnath on Thursday assumed charge in his chambers at Velagapudi near here on Thursday amid chanting of Vedic hymns.

In the presence of Vedic scholars, family members and officials, Amarnath, 37, who represents Anakapalle Assembly segment and son of former Minister Gudivada Gurunadha Rao, said he would make all-out efforts to attract investments in IT and industries across the State. After assuming charge, he signed on the file of sanctioning Rs 8 crore as compensation to the farmers for lands acquired for developing a port at Ramayapatnam.

He thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for giving an opportunity to serve the people as a Minister and declared that he would work hard to live up to his expectations. "Late YSR had a dream to make Vizag a leading IT hub. My predecessor late Mekapati Goutham Reddy also tried a lot to promote investments in Andhra Pradesh. I will certainly leave no stone unturned to bring investments."

He said Vizag had all the ingredients to become an IT hub like Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai. The initiative was made during YSR rule and declared that under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy more investments would be brought in the field of IT in Vizag and other cities. He said the vast coastline in the State would give a fillip to port-led development.
