Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for IT, Industries, Municipal Administration & Urban Development KT Rama Rao inaugurated ALPLA India's World Class Mould Shop and ALPLA Dual Education Center in partnership with the State government's Department of Technical Education and industry body CII Telangana, in Pashamylaram on Monday.

On the occasion, KT Rama Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao always says that whatever is taught must be aligned to the industry requirement. The Dual Education Centre is set up is in line with that thinking process. It gives the much needed industry exposure to its students. Out of 400 applications received, just 11 are short listed, including four girls.

"The DualEducation Centre will be a role model to the rest of the industries," he said and congratulated ALPLA India's MD Vagish Dixit for such a futuristic initiative. The minister stressed upon the decentralisation of industries and its growth. All the parts of India must be growth corridors. He highlighted five silent revolutions – white, yellow, pink, blue and green – happening across the State.

He reminded the audience how Telangana achieved the unique distinction of being the State that offers peace to its industries and entrepreneurs. Peace of doing business is more important than the ease of doing business. He quickly added the cost of doing business as well as the quality of doing business is equally important.

ALPLA Mould Shop in Pashamylaram is the ALPLA Global's third Mould shop- the other two being in Austria and Germany. The choice of location reflects huge confidence in techno-commercial skills of Indian professionals to support high end technical solutions from ideation to design and execution on highly complex injection mold related projects including manufacture of precision closures, pumps and devices and other injection molded component, said Vagish Dixit, MD of Alpla India.

He added that the ALPLA India has invested Rs 60 crore in the tool room and Rs 10 crore in Dual Education Center. With this, its investment in Pashamylaram is Rs 500 crore, making it one of the top 15 plants out of 177 plants worldwide.

Philipp Lehner, Chief Executive Officer of Alpla Group, said: "Global expertise and local capabilities are married in this plant. India is a developing hub and Hyderabad is an important market. This plant will develop local solutions with global technology. Safe and sustainable products are even more important. We find a way to bring them all together.

Navin Mittal, Commissioner of Technical and Collegiate Education, Government of Telangana, said: "Dual Education Centre is a solution to India's skill crisis. The idea emerged on the sidelines of the CII Education Summit. It suits Indian needs, he said. He urged other industries to replicate this model."
