Vijayawada: The Agarwals Eye Hospital on Wednesday announced an investment plan of Rs 500 crore towards establishing 30 new hospitals in the next three years.

This was disclosed by Prof Amar Agarwal, Chairman, Dr Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals in the presence of Dr Kandru Kalyana Srinivasa Chakravarthy, Regional Head-Clinical Services, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, Vijayawada.

One of the largest eye care chains in India, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital is currently present in six districts in Andhra Pradesh. It already operates two eye clinics in Vijayawada.

The group opened a new super specialty hospital, an 11800 sft facility on MG Road, Governerpet, here which boasts of the state-of-the-art modular operation theatre and exclusive departments to treat corneal diseases, refractive errors, and cataract, besides a paediatric division, a modern optical display, and pharmacy.

Inaugurating the group’s eye hospital here, the first superspeciality eye hospital in the region, Minister for Health Vidadala Rajini said “I am happy that at a time when our Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is striving to revolutionise healthcare so as to enhance this sector’s quality and reach, a reputed eye hospital chain such as Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital is committing itself to expanding its presence.”
