This week not only brings along a historic return of the movie Sholay on the big screen but also the revival of detective Benoit Blanc which is really something. The whole week consists of classic films, mysteries and fresh Indian dramas intermingled with each other.

Sholay (In Theatres)

Ramesh Sippy's timeless 1975 masterwork gets a 4K pristine version to rule the box-office fifty years after its original release. Presented at Il Cinema Ritrovato 2025, the restoration by Film Heritage Foundation and Shehzad Sippy contains visuals that are improved, deleted scenes and a correctly intended ending of the film. Starring the icons Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, and the incomparable Amjad Khan, Sholay is still one of the most talked-about movies of India.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (Netflix)

Rian Johnson is responsible for the third chapter of the famous Knives Out saga, and this time Daniel Craig is once again taking up the character of the detective Benoit Blanc, who is a bit odd but very colourful. The cast includes some of the biggest names of today—Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, and Andrew Scott. Just as in the case of Glass Onion, the movie straight away goes to Netflix, although the fans might miss the excitement of the theatre.

Real Kashmir Football Club (SonyLiv)

This tale is drawn from the actual football club's events that were set up in 2016 and focused on the characters of a Kashmiri Pandit and a Kashmiri Muslim who unite to create the first professional football team in the valley. The series starring Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Manav Kaul is being helmed by Rajesh Mapuskar and Mahesh Mathai.

The Great Shamsuddin Family (JioHotstar)

Anusha Rizvi, who took a break for over ten years, is back with a new film that is a mix of comedy and drama and is about a huge and disorganized family. The stellar cast consists of Kritika Kamra, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sheeba Chaddha, Farida Jalal, Dolly Ahluwalia, Juhi Babbar, and Purab Kohli.
