Su From So OTT Release: Raj B Shetty’s Blockbuster Horror Comedy to Stream on JioHotstar from September 9

The Kannada horror comedy Su From So is about to make its digital debut following a triumphant theatrical run. Beginning on September 9, 2025, JioHotstar will stream the film, which was produced by actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty and directed by debutant JP Thuminad.

Both critics and viewers gave the movie excellent reviews when it was released in theaters on July 25. With a modest budget of about ₹5 crore, it became the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2025, earning ₹121 crore globally.

The plot

Su From So tells the tale of Ashoka, a carefree youngster whose innocent crush results in strange happenings. It is set in the coastal village of Marlur, close to Someshwara. A mixture of spooky moments and belly-laughing humor results from the villagers' growing suspicion that he has drawn the spirit of a ghost called Sulochana.

According to the official synopsis, the movie is:

"Ashoka's naive crush causes strange things to happen in a quiet village, making the locals think he's brought a ghost with him."

The cast and crew

Shaneel Gautham, JP Thuminad, Sandhya Arakere, Prakash Thuminad, Deepak Rai Panaje, Mime Ramdas, Raj B Shetty, Pushparaj Bolar, and Mamtha Shetty are among the ensemble cast members of Su From So. Under Lighter Buddha Films, Shashidhar Shetty Baroda, Ravi Rai Kalasa, and Raj B Shetty are producing it.

The film was also released in Malayalam on August 1, distributed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, further widening its reach.

Post Su From So, Raj B Shetty is gearing up for his role in Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar alongside Bobby Deol. He will also feature in 45, sharing the screen with Nimma Upendra and Shiva Rajkumar.

With its blend of horror, comedy, and social drama, Su From So has been credited with pulling audiences back to theatres, following the legacy of Kannada blockbusters like KGF, Kantara, and 777 Charlie.
