JioHotstar Restores Streaming After Temporary Outage; Users Rejoice

JioHotstar has resumed its services after a short period of downtime, which deprived all users from participating in the streaming of movies, TV series, and live shows all over India. Reports from angry clients about the network error message when they attempted to open the app, increased in number earlier in the day:

"Your JioHotstar connection isn't working. Your network might be the cause."

What Went Wrong

Users could see only the Home and Sports sections of the app during the outage and features including search, watch history, and log-in were not available. A number of users took to social media to post complaints and express their doubts regarding the app's stability and updates.

Downdetector's reports showed that the outage was significant, and it even affected cricket live streaming, over-the-top (OTT) originals, and popular TV series. Users reported experiencing crashing of the app, inability to log in, buffering, and even seeing blank screens.

JioHotstar's Reaction

The company reacted to the situation by stating:

"An unexpected technical glitch affected some users who faced difficulty in accessing the platform or streaming the content. We thank you for your patience while we are fixing the issue and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused."

Streaming Reinstated

JioHotstar, after a few hours, communicated that the outage has been completely resolved and services are restored:

"Hello! Very short-lived issue which has now been fixed. Please retry accessing the app. If the problem continues, do let us know. Enjoy your streaming!"

Now that all services are back, users have the chance to catch up with all their favorite shows and movies without interruptions. The social media comments were first about frustration and then about relief quite quickly as people who liked JioHotstar confirmed that it is working as usual.
