Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that both national and international firms are stepping up to invest in Telangana, attributing this interest to the new energy policy introduced by the Congress government.

On Wednesday, representatives from Ecoren Energy India Private Limited and GPRS Arya Private Limited signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with TG REDCO at the Telangana Institute Rural Development in Rajender Nagar, Hyderabad, with Bhatti Vikramarka present.

During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the two companies have committed to invest Rs.29,000 crore in the state through their agreement with TG REDCO.

"With the launch of the New Energy Policy, Sun Petro Company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to invest Rs 20,000 crore for the generation of 3,400 MW of pumped storage power in Telangana. Additionally, a major corporation is set to invest Rs 7,500 crore to produce 1,500 MW of pumped storage power. Both companies are currently in the process of developing Detailed Project Reports (DPR), and their new projects are expected to commence shortly in Telangana," Bhatti stated.

Bhatti expressed his satisfaction regarding Ecoren Energy India Private Limited, which has also signed an MoU with the state government today to produce 5,600 MW of green energy through an investment of Rs 27,000 crore, thanks to the implementation of the clean and green energy policy.

He noted that the influx of investments into Telangana for green energy generation presents a significant opportunity to swiftly address the electricity requirements of the state's residents.
