Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday reiterated his commitment to oppose the NDA government’s decision to privatise Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL).
He told the union leaders during his campaigning here that Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, set up after sacrifices made during ‘Visakha Ukku Andhrula Hakku’ is pride of Telugu people, he said and declared “come what may YSRCP will not allow RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to go to private hands.”
“The response from the Chief Minister was very positive,” INTUC leader Mantri Rajasekhar told Bizz Buzz later. Among others, union leaders D Adinarayana, Ch Narsinga Rao, Mastanappa and others formed part of the delegation, which called on Reddy on behalf of Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Porata Samithi at the Yendada guesthouse. The union leaders discussed the Vizag Steel Plant issue and the coking coal crisis faced by it now with the Chief Minister.
