Stock market today: Due to mixed signals from the global markets investors anticipate that

Friday will see higher opening levels for India's benchmark equity markets as well as both the

Sensex and Nifty 50 indexes.

Sensex surged 1,200.18 points to close at 82,530.74, up 1.48%, while Nifty 50 advanced 395.20

points, finishing at 25,062.10 with a gain of 1.60%.

US Unemployment Claims

The amount of Americans who submitted new claims for unemployment benefits was not

changed the week before. Initial applications for unemployment benefits from the state were

steady at 22,99,000, which was adjusted for the season for the week ending the 10th of May.

India Unemployment Rate

India's unemployment rate for individuals older than 15 was 5.1 percentage in April 2025. it was

5.2% for males and 5% among females. percentage of unemployment was 5.2 percent for males,

and 5% among females.
