The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched ‘Pratibha Setu’, a digital platform designed to support aspirants who clear all stages of the UPSC exam but fail to make it to the final merit list. The initiative, highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his latest Mann Ki Baat address, aims to connect these talented candidates with private sector opportunities.
Why ‘Pratibha Setu’ Was Created
PM Modi acknowledged that thousands of capable candidates narrowly miss the UPSC final list each year, despite clearing Prelims, Mains, and Interviews. Until now, most had no option but to start preparations again, losing valuable time and money.
“These students are equally talented and hardworking. To ensure their efforts don’t go in vain, UPSC has created Pratibha Setu as a bridge between them and private employers,” PM Modi said.
How the Portal Works
- Databank of Talent: The portal hosts details of over 10,000 candidates from Civil Services (CSE), Engineering Services (ESE), and Medical Services (CMS) who missed the final list.
- Hiring Platform for Companies: Private organizations can access this databank and recruit directly.
- Successful Placements: Hundreds of aspirants have already secured white-collar jobs through the initiative.
Registration for Employers
Private companies can register on the UPSC Pratibha Setu portal via upsc.gov.in.
The process involves:
- Selecting “UPSC Pratibha Setu” under the Examination tab.
- Registering with the Corporate Identification Number (CIN) and email verification.
- Completing nodal officer registration with OTP verification.
- Accessing the dashboard to review candidate profiles and hire.
